CAPTAL ‘ACP 1.50’ Amorphous Tricalcium Phosphate (ACP)
High-Purity, Bespoke Size & Morphology, Amorphous Beta-Tricalcium Precursor
CAPTAL ® Amorphous Calcium Phosphate ‘1.5’ is a high-purity, pre-crystalline, medical grade product, with a calcium : phosphorus ratio (Ca:P) of 1.50. When heated above 900 °C, the material will crystallise, forming high-phase purity Beta-Tricalcium Phosphate (95% + phase pure), and under the correct sintering regime will form fully crystalline ß-TCP (99% +).
Beta-Tricalcium Phosphate (ß-TCP) is commonly used in the dental industry for its ability to reduce sensitivity and promote calcium deposition, aiding in the treatment of enamel cavities. CAPTAL ® ‘ACP 1.5’ as a pre-crystalline material is suitable for manufacturing routes that would ordinarily disrupt the crystalline lattice of ß-TCP .
Physical Properties
CAPTAL ® ‘ACP 1.5’ is available with a spherical morphology, with average particle size, Dv(50), of 15 – 30 μm, or with an angular morphology as granules with a Dv (50) from 60 μm up to 500 μm. It is sold as a non-sterile powder. We can provide partial sintering on request to adjust particle porosity. If critical, absence of endotoxins must be considered in unsintered materials before use. Please refer to the safety data sheet for more information on the storage and handling of CAPTAL® ACP 1.50 material.
