Phase Composition
We can make biphasic calcium phosphates on request, adjusting the phase composition of the final material based on reaction conditions. By varying the concentrations of hydroxyapatite and beta-tricalcium phosphate, we can tune characteristics such as cell interactions and degradation time. We can blend calcium phosphates or manufacture material with a calcium : phosphate (Ca:P) ratio of your choosing.
Crystallinity
The in vivo lifespan of implanted hydroxyapatite can be tuned by altering crystallinity as well as composition. Additionally, mechanical properties such as compressive strength can be adjusted through crystallinity. We understand the subtleties of our material and appreciate the initial cellular response and long-term performance is mediated by solubility.
Physical Characteristics & Morphology
The physical characteristics of individual particles dictate the bulk properties of the material. By changing features such as morphology (powders available in angular and spherical forms), density, and particle size, we can influence bulk properties like flowability and cohesion strength. We can assemble sophisticated particle size distributions such as bimodal or tight span depending on your requirements. In addition to providing complete powder solutions, we can produce densified sintered constructs.
